Do you have questions about car insurance for your teen or young adult and you are not sure who to ask. This blog has all the information that you will need to find the right insurance for your young drivers.
In their article on Sex and Car Insurance: How Gender Affects...They explain why car insurance for males between the ages of 18-25 is higher than it is for females in the same age group. Some of the reasons may surprise you. They have sections on their blog called insurance 101, in the news, driving, tech, green, and how to’s.
Some of the great things that I learned on this blog are that:
· Red cars attract birds
· How to change a flat tire
· How to check the oil in your car
· How to park on a hill
· How to jump start your car
· 8 must have new car features
· Why to buy a stick shift
· Why to buy an automatic
· Why to buy a hybrid car
· How to melt snow (ice melt vs. kitty litter)
With the recent legalization of Marijuana in our neighboring state of Colorado there have been many questions about child custody and driving after smoking marijuana. In the Esurance Blog they address the Myth about Marijuana and driving: Is driving high unsafe? The British Medical Journal published a study about the effects of smoking marijuana on driving ability. They found that smoking pot and driving doubled ones risk of getting into an accident. The research concluded that driving and marijuana do not mix.
They also report on the top eight new safety features on 2013 cars. These features include cameras that act as extra eyes for you, sensors that warn you of other cars and objects (it will even wake you up if you are getting drowsy), back-up assistance, self parking assistance, adjustable headlights, adjustable airbags, windshield clearing assistance (meant for those icy cold days like we enjoyed in January), and finally tire pressure alerts.
This blog keeps its readers informed of changes in laws, what is new, how to lower your insurance rates by first improving your credit score, how to make minor repairs on your car, how to save on gas, they even have a section on conserving called “Green.”
I learned a lot of valuable information from this blog and I recommend it to everyone who is interested in finding out more about automobile insurance and the latest information about protecting yourself, your family and maintaining your automobile.
I will have to pass this info on to my boys -
