BLOG POST: ALAN REIFMAN

ALAN REIFMAN'S EMERGING ADULTHOOD PAGE

As family life educators it is a duty of ours to bring you information and help you find resources useful to you and your families.  I want to share another blog with a focus on helping and informing those that are transitioning into adulthood.

This blog is authored by Dr. Alan Reifman.  He is a professor at Texas Tech University and teaches many things in the human development and family studies field.  I'd like to share some of the positives and negatives of his blog so that you can use it as another source in helping you learn about the transition to adulthood.

I first want to highly recommend this as a good blog to check up on every once in a while.  Although I recommend it, it sometimes does not address a lot of our content and readers perfectly but enough that it can be another great source.  The biggest reason it is useful though is its ability to bring accurate and reliable info about many topics concerning rising adults.  It is scary how much information can be and is published on the internet as truth.  Anybody can post anything and that is scary.  Especially if we are trying to learn about something as important as learning how to become an adult!  Dr. Reifman is GREAT at finding relevant and informative articles and research that is helpful for the emerging adults as well as their parents.  It is comforting to know of his education and it is apparent in the way he goes about posting topics and findings of his.  They are reliable sources and something YOU can lean on!  His blog gets an A in this regard and hence is the biggest reason I recommend his blog.

Sometimes Dr. Reifman's writing can be uninteresting and bland but the lack of interesting writing is once again made up in quality information he brings to our attention.  He does not post often; once a month on average so I would use this as a source to look at for a long time as it is something that is not posted too often but when he does it usually has something of value for everybody affected by the transition to adulthood.

Dr. Reifman posts many articles with proven research as well as has some research of his own.  I recommend that you read some of the things he has posted as well as surf some of his links concerning his own research concerning emerging adults.  I found it to be very interesting and informative!

I am not enthralled with everything about the layout and feel of the blog but what matters to me is the content.  And Dr. Reifman gives us tons of great content by bringing it to our attention by the ease of clicking a link!  Because the content is what matters this is a GREAT blog to keep an eye on!
